A dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one — it slips, drags, and requires force that puts your hand in the wrong place. This rolling knife sharpener restores your kitchen knives to a sharp, clean edge using a double-sided diamond disc and a built-in angle guide, so you get a consistent result every time without guesswork.

Why It Stands Out
  • Double-sided diamond disc — The top disc uses #400 grit diamond for grinding and reshaping the blade edge, while the #1000 grit honing disc on the bottom smooths and refines the edge after sharpening for a clean, precise finish.
  • Dual angle guide: 15° and 20° — The included angle guide base has both a 15° setting for fine, precision cutting edges and a 20° setting for a more durable everyday edge — simply choose the side that suits your knife.
  • Magnetic angle support — The magnetic angle roller holds the sharpener at a consistent angle against the blade throughout the sharpening stroke, removing the guesswork that causes uneven edges with freehand sharpening.
  • Ball bearing roller mechanism — Two internal ball bearings allow the roller to glide smoothly and freely across the blade, reducing friction and giving you better control with light, steady pressure.
  • Silicone grip rings — Oval silicone rings on the roller wheels provide a secure, non-slip grip during the grinding process and protect the blade surface from unwanted contact.
  • Solid wood roller grip — The cylindrical body is made from solid wood, giving the sharpener a substantial, balanced feel in the hand that makes the rolling motion easy to control.
  • Works on all blade widths — The rolling design accommodates small and narrow blades, mid-size blades, and large or tall blades — confirmed from product use images.
  • Compact and portable — The roller and base store compactly together, making this a practical tool for everyday kitchen use or travel.

Knife Sharpener Demonstration - Clean

Where to Use It
  • Chef’s knives — Restore a razor-sharp edge to your main kitchen knife before meal prep, using the 20° guide for a durable everyday edge.
  • Utility and paring knives — The rolling mechanism handles narrow and smaller blades cleanly without risk of uneven sharpening.
  • Large and tall blades — Cleavers, wide chef’s knives, and santoku blades are all compatible with the rolling design confirmed in product images.
  • Precision cutting tools — Use the 15° guide setting when you need a finer, more acute cutting edge for detailed or delicate knife work.
  • Camping and outdoor cooking — The compact size makes it straightforward to pack and use away from home wherever you need to maintain a blade.
How It Works
  1. Set your sharpening angle — Place the angle guide base flat on your work surface and choose your angle: 15° for a fine precision edge or 20° for a stronger everyday edge. The magnetic angle support holds the roller at the selected angle consistently throughout the stroke.
  2. Grind the blade with the #400 disc — Hold the roller on top of the blade and roll it along the length of the edge using light, controlled pressure. The diamond grinding disc removes material and reshapes the blade to a sharp edge. Repeat as needed.
  3. Hone the edge with the #1000 disc — Flip the roller to use the #1000 grit honing disc. Roll along the blade edge using the same motion to smooth away any roughness left by grinding, leaving a clean, refined cutting edge ready for use.

How to Use
  1. Place the angle guide base on a flat, stable surface — the non-slip base holds it in position during sharpening.
  2. Select your angle: use the 20° side for everyday kitchen knives or the 15° side for a finer precision edge.
  3. Rest the knife blade flat against the angle guide at the chosen angle.
  4. Place the diamond grinding roller (the #400 grit disc side) on top of the blade near the heel.
  5. Apply light, even pressure and roll the sharpener along the blade from heel to tip in a smooth, steady stroke.
  6. Repeat 5–10 strokes on each side of the blade until the edge is restored.
  7. Flip the roller to the #1000 grit honing disc and repeat 3–5 lighter strokes per side to refine and smooth the edge.
  8. Wipe the blade clean with a dry cloth before use. Clean the roller discs after each sharpening session.

Practical tip: Use light pressure throughout — the diamond disc removes material efficiently and heavy pressing does not sharpen faster. Consistent angle and even strokes produce the best edge.

Care and Maintenance
  • Wipe the diamond discs clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth after each use to remove metal filings and debris.
  • Do not submerge the roller in water — the wood grip and ball bearings should be kept dry.
  • Store the roller and angle guide base together in a dry location away from moisture.
  • Keep out of reach of children — the diamond disc surface is abrasive and the sharpened blade is sharp.
  • Exercise caution when handling the roller during and after sharpening — the disc edges are abrasive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the 15° and 20° angle settings?
The 15° angle produces a finer, more acute cutting edge suited to precision cutting tasks — but the knife edge will wear more quickly with regular use. The 20° angle creates a more durable, robust edge better suited to everyday kitchen tasks like chopping, slicing, and general meal prep. For most home kitchen knives, the 20° setting is the practical choice for daily use.
What types of knives can this sharpener be used on?
This sharpener is compatible with a range of kitchen knife types including chef's knives, utility knives, paring knives, santoku knives, and large or tall blades such as cleavers. The rolling design accommodates small and narrow blades as well as wide blades. It is designed for straight-edged blades — serrated knives are not suitable for this type of sharpener.
What is the difference between the #400 and #1000 grit discs?
The #400 grit diamond disc is the grinding disc — it removes material from the blade edge to reshape and sharpen it. Use this side first when the knife is noticeably dull. The #1000 grit honing disc is the finishing disc — it smooths away the roughness left by the grinding stage, leaving a clean and refined cutting edge. For regular maintenance of an already reasonably sharp knife, the #1000 disc alone may be sufficient.
How does the magnetic angle support work?
The angle guide base uses a magnetic angle roller to hold the sharpening roller at the correct angle against the blade throughout each stroke. This maintains a consistent sharpening angle without requiring you to estimate or adjust manually — which is the main cause of uneven edges with freehand sharpening methods. Simply select your angle on the guide base and the magnetic support keeps the roller in the right position.
Is this sharpener difficult to use if I have no sharpening experience?
No. The angle guide base does the angle work for you, so you do not need to estimate or maintain a freehand angle as you would with a traditional whetstone. Place the blade against the guide, set the roller on top, and roll it along the edge with light, even pressure. The key is using light pressure and consistent strokes — the diamond disc removes material efficiently without needing heavy force.
How do I clean and maintain the sharpener?
Wipe the diamond grinding disc and honing disc clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth after each use to remove metal filings and debris. Do not submerge the roller in water — the solid wood grip and ball bearings should be kept dry to prevent damage. Store the roller and angle guide base together in a dry place when not in use.
