Making dumplings from scratch has two steps that most people find difficult to do consistently: getting the dough round and thin enough for a wrapper, and then folding the edge neatly so it seals without gaps. This 2-in-1 dumpling maker handles both in a single compact tool. Press a ball of kneaded dough in the lower bowl to form a round wrapper. Flip the arm up, place the wrapper back in the mould, add your filling, and press the hinged top down — the serrated edge folds and seals a neat crimped dumpling in one motion. No rolling pin. No hand-pleating. No skill required. Made from food-contact grade PP, it works for dumplings, gyoza, pierogi, potstickers, and any filled dough parcel you want to make at home.

Why It Stands Out
  • 2-in-1: wrapper press and dumpling mould in one tool — Press the dough into a round wrapper using the dome press, then use the same tool as a fold-and-seal mould. No separate rolling pin or cutter needed.
  • Food-contact grade PP material — The entire tool is made from food-contact grade polypropylene — the same category of plastic used in food storage containers. No recycled raw materials used.
  • Embossed crimp edge — The serrated edge produces a textured, pleated finish that seals the dumpling tightly and looks neatly uniform — the same appearance as restaurant-style dumplings.
  • Ergonomic handle — The shaped handle provides a comfortable, controlled grip when pressing the dough or folding the dumpling.
  • Works for multiple filled dough recipes — Suitable for Chinese jiaozi, Japanese gyoza, Korean mandu, Polish pierogi, South American empanadas, and similar filled dough parcels.
  • Compact and easy to store — At 11.2 × 7.87 × 2.48 in (28.5 × 20 × 6.3 cm), it fits flat in a kitchen drawer or cabinet without taking up counter space.
  • Four colour options — Available in Blue, Green, Yellow, and White to suit your kitchen or to give as a gift.
  • Easy to rinse clean — The smooth PP surface rinses clean under running water after use.

How It Works — Step by Step
Step 1: Press the Wrapper
  1. Knead your dough until smooth and portion it into small balls — approximately the size of a large marble per dumpling.
  2. Place one dough ball into the round bowl section of the open mould.
  3. Press the dome top down firmly with even pressure. The dough spreads and flattens into a round, even wrapper shape.
  4. Lift the dome — your round dumpling wrapper is ready.
Step 2: Fill and Seal
  1. Open the hinged folding arm fully and place the pressed wrapper flat in the bowl section of the mould.
  2. Spoon your filling into the centre of the wrapper. Do not overfill — leave a clear edge around the rim for sealing.
  3. Fold the hinged arm down over the filling, bringing both halves of the wrapper together.
  4. Press firmly — the serrated edge presses the two wrapper halves together and creates the crimped fold pattern simultaneously.
  5. Open the mould — your sealed, crimped dumpling is ready to cook.

What Types of Dumplings Can I Make?

This tool is suitable for any filled dough parcel that uses a round, flat wrapper sealed along a curved edge. Confirmed uses include Chinese jiaozi (boiled or pan-fried dumplings), Japanese gyoza, Korean mandu, Polish and Ukrainian pierogi, and South American empanadas made with soft dough. It works with fresh homemade dough. For best results with store-bought wrappers, the wrapper should be pliable enough to fold without cracking — fresh refrigerated wrappers work better than dried or room-temperature ones.

What This Tool Is Not

This is a manual press-and-mould tool — it is not an electric dumpling machine. It makes one dumpling at a time. It is designed for standard round dumpling wrappers and is not suited for very large formats or very thick dough. The tool works best when the dough is properly kneaded, rested, and soft.

Care and Cleaning

Rinse the tool under running water after each use to remove any dough or filling residue from the bowl, dome, and serrated edge. Use a soft brush or cloth to clean the crimped edge section if dough becomes lodged in the ridges. Allow to air dry fully before storing. Hand wash only — do not place in the dishwasher. Store flat in a drawer or cabinet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tool press the wrapper AND seal the dumpling, or just one of those?
Both. The dome section presses a ball of dough into a round wrapper. The hinged arm then folds the filled wrapper in half and the serrated edge seals and crimps it in one press. Both functions are built into the same tool — no separate rolling pin or cutter is needed.
Can I use store-bought dumpling wrappers, or does it only work with homemade dough?
The mould and sealing function works with store-bought wrappers as long as they are pliable. Fresh refrigerated wrappers work well. Dried or room-temperature wrappers may crack when folded. The wrapper-pressing dome is designed for fresh homemade dough.
What filling types can I use?
Any standard dumpling filling works — minced meat, vegetables, tofu, seafood, or sweet fillings. The key is not to overfill: leave a clear margin around the edge of the wrapper so the serrated rim can seal it properly. Overfilling is the most common reason a dumpling does not seal cleanly.
Is the plastic food safe?
Yes — the tool is made from food-contact grade PP (polypropylene). The supplier explicitly states it uses primary food-contact grade material and does not use recycled raw materials in the construction.
Can I use this for pierogi or empanadas as well as Asian dumplings?
Yes. The fold-and-seal function works for any filled dough parcel that uses a round, flat wrapper sealed along a curved edge. This includes Polish and Ukrainian pierogi, South American empanadas made with soft dough, Korean mandu, and Japanese gyoza. The wrapper size produced by the press is suitable for standard single-serving portions.
How do I clean it after use?
Rinse under running water after each use. Use a soft brush to clear any dough from the serrated edge section. Allow to air dry fully before storing. Hand wash only — not suitable for the dishwasher.
